Signed Dream Logic

I remembered to tell David the story when my turn came. Prefacing it with "Not be to creepy or anything..." (hah!), I proceeded to tell him how I had a dream sometime ago (a month or a couple of months ago, can't remember anymore) that I went to a book signing, and it was his. It was held at some colorful, artsy venue, I was in line and then I was talking to him. As with most dreams, I could not remember much detail.

 

I had no inkling at the time that a comic convention would be held here in Manila and that he would be part of it.

 

(Mr. Jaime Daez who was sitting next to David then asked if I had a third eye. I jokingly said I was psychic. But really, I should have said that yes, I do have this thing sometimes that makes me think of mental telepathy. The dream was most probably wishful thinking - I had asked Mr. Daez himself some years ago (during a Neil Gaiman signing if I remember correctly) to please bring David over after I learned he had come to see him in San Diego, and I had waited, and waited, and boom! AsiaPOPComicon happened. I knew then that surely, Fully Booked would seize the chance to have David at an event, separate from the Comicon -- of that I was pretty confident. Even more so when David told me to watch out for announcements in the week following the Comicon.

 

How remarkable is it that the book I ended up having David sign at Fully Booked was Dream Logic? I almost whooped as I read in the foreword:

 

"In this book are original short stories. Some of these ideas are about turning dreams into reality."

 

I mean, really. #iizpsychic
