Spitfire @ Bickershaw Colliery 1971

Hunslet Austerity 0-6-0ST 'Spitfire' takes on water as her driver looks-on, outside the shed at Bickershaw Colliery in 1971. Built by the Hunslet Engine Co. from Leeds as their Works No.3831 and delivered to the NCB in 1955, she was fitted with a Giesl oblong ejector chimney to help improve steaming and remained at Bickershaw until 1976.
