Paestum - Temple called of Neptune

Built around 450 bc in local travertine, which has taken on a golden hue. horizontal lines are slightly convex and the corner columns are elliptical rather than circular. These technical features make it of great proportions and a feeling of solidity. Perhaps the temple was dedicated to Hera of Argos.
