Two and a half years ago my husband was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. It was completely out of the blue, he was fit and healthy and had none of the risk factors. A couple of weeks ago we found out the doctors had got it wrong and he was actually type 2. This means at the moment he has the freedom of not having to inject insulin 4 times a day.
