Fall Flicker 3 - Vancouver, British Columbia (Explored)

I was photographing some finches when this splendid northern flicker landed on a branch no more than eight feet away from me. At this distance the bird was so large that it entirely filled my 300mm lens. Fortunately, I was able to take a couple of quick shots before it flew away. It was a rainy day, so if you look carefully you can see some rain falling in the background. The photo was taken in November 2011, with my trusty Olympus digital camera. Enjoy.
