Rock thyme
Clinopodium alpinum, also known as mountain rock thyme, is an herbaceous plant in the lipflower family (Lamiaceae). This plant is mainly found in mountainous regions of Europe, such as the Alps, Pyrenees and Carpathians.
Grows on sunny, well-drained calcareous soils, often on rocky places or in alpine meadows.
The plant has a mild thyme-like odor and is sometimes used in herbal mixtures or as an ornamental plant in rock gardens.
