Helmet Cam rear

Taken using DIY helmet rig, Smilar to that often used with GoPro

I drilled a hole vertically through the top (vertex) of the helmet and passed a bolt and washers through. Next I attached a 2m length of 21.5 mm PVC pipe using the bolt as a fulcrum. The camera (a Canon Powershot S100) was mounted on the longer end and was counterweighted with big nuts & bolts on the shorter end.

As my Powershot has no wireless remote, I had to pass a 5m USB lead throught the pipe and use a USB Battery charger as a shutter release (activated in the CHDK firmware hack available on the Powershot).

See photo of the rig in this Album

Processing was HDR of single RAW image in Photomatix.
