Playing with using Conky to display a battery widget, and using Compiz to make the top font semi-transparent.

 

I'm running Ubuntu 9.04, Gnome-Do for a launcher, and both my panels are hidden. I use Conky as a desktop decorator/system monitor! Fonts are Route 3 and saxMono (from dafont.com) and Sawasdee (standard Ubuntu font). Battery widget is Conky as well, using battery icons by *MrStylo on DevArt.
