The Titan in green

By 1975 some of Edinburgh's 50 Leyland Titans of 1962 were re-allocated to other depots until 1977 when one-person-operation made them redundant. This coincided with Eastern Scottish having a shortage of serviceable buses and some 'jumped ship' and were soon in the Lothian green and cream colours as seen with former fleet 612 which on entering its new home at Musselburgh depot became fleet HH312W.

Eastern Scottish worked the country routes around the city including intensive services to the east and 612 is seen approaching the Edinburgh/Musselburgh boundary as it crosses Eastfield junction. The post office on the left, like many others across the city, have now closed. The 130 route to Wallyford has also gone. Note these buses carried illuminated offside adverts on this one the Bank of Scotland proudly displays its name - in the days when it was a true Scottish bank.
