New gadget

Although I like new gadgets it can take a very long time before I give in. I resisted the (Sony)walkman for years as I did the compact-disc player. I like my daughter’s Ipod but never bought one myself.

A few years ago I did bye a PDA (Palm) but it was the cheapest model (black and white). My incredible Nokia mini-computer (phone, PDA, photocamera, adressbook, agenda, mp3-player) I got relatively cheap because it wasn’t the latest model.

 

Yes, I blame my upbringing, I blame Luther and Calvin!

Or is it really something ingrained in my character?

 

Anyhow, for my birthday I got a navigation system. Although sceptical for years, my attitude changed when the prices went down (Calvin again!) and I realized more and more how often we had problems finding places where we had never been before, even if we had printed out a description of the route to take. Although my daughter loves the theatrics that go along with two parents, not being able to find the road, we can easily do without all the stress.

 

So I wonder, will this small apparatus improve my life? My well-being?
