3rd MLG Marines depart for Thailand
WHITE BEACH NAVAL FACILITY, OKINAWA, Japan – More than 200 Marines from 3rd Marine Logistics Group embarked the Tortuga to depart to the Kingdom of Thailand to provide support and assistance for flood relief operations in coordination with the Royal Government of Thailand here Nov 18. Along with the ships organic crew of more than 300 sailors, Tortuga has also been loaded with two CH-46E Sea Knight helicopters, high-mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicles, commercial bulldozers, and a variety of heavy equipment to assist in flood relief operations.
