One of the splendid series of Qantas airline brochures issued around 1960 and that are illustrated by Gert Sellheim (1901 - 1979). This is issued with all information and captions in the two languages; German and French. This cover shows an iconic surfboat crewed with lifeguards or lifesavers.
Sellheim was a German - Australian artist and designer who was an important infuence in Australian design following his move to the country in 1926. It was Sellheim who designed the distinctive Qantas 'flying kangaroo' logo. The folders, with extensive handlettering, give information as to the destination and open up into a splendid poster style series of illustrations of major attractions.
