Repatriated to the UK from Germany and sold into industrial use former BAOR (British Army Of the Rheine) 0-6-0DH no.873 Andrew Barclay wks no. 512 of 1966 is seen at Queenborough Wharf Scrapyard. The locomotive was one of four of the same type bought by Queenborough Rolling Mill Co. Ltd to work scrap trains along the Rushenden Light railway between the scrapyard on the Swale Estuary and steel mill at Queenborough. The locos also performed shunting at the mill and BR exchange sidings with all four arriving in the Spring of 1994. No.873 seen here and named 'John Boy' last worked for the BAOR at RAF Willich in Germany. Sadly this Kent industrial railway gem closed in February 2013 its 50th anniversary year of operation as a scrapyard.
