Don't forget the keys.......

It was pointed out to me when I signed the Dowlow branch from Buxton "what ever you don't don't forget the keys !"

I am familiar with no signalman key token working but at Briggs Sidings its slightly different as after getting the key token released it is taken by the ground staff initially who operate a ground frame and derailer before authorising the train to proceed onto the single line without it. This is where the warning from colleagues applies as it would then be so easy to keep going and find yourself with a serious safety of the line breach by running the length of the single line without the token. Instead you have to stop on the single line with the rear of the train clear of the ground frame and wait for the shunter to walk down and present you with the keys.

The brass key token for the line between Briggs Sidings and Buxton is seen on the desk of a class 66 prior to departing.
