Gatwick was a major European hub for the Canadian Armed Forces. Douglas Dakotas and Bristol Freighters ferried personnel from and to France and Germany while Hercs and Yukons like this were used across the Atlantic. Delivered to the RCAF in 1961, this one was sold to Zaire in 1974 and scrapped there in 1983
