River Thames: Mimosa

Taken on 16 June 2017 and uploaded 28 December 2024.

The yacht Mimosa, built in 1935 at Hampton-Upon-Thames sailing past Denton Wharf at Gravesend, on its way up the River Thames. It was renamed Ocelot on being requisitioned during WW2; it took past in Operation Dynamo under that name but reverted to Mimosa in 1999. It's clearly well looked after and maintained and now moored at Bristol. The higher of the 2 flags on its mast is the flag of The Association Of Dunkirk Little Ships (ADSL) who publish a register and listing of the Little Ships at www.adls.org.uk/
