Celebration of Kitty's life
In the middle of Kitty's funeral there was a fire in the church and we had to evacuate the building. We all had a chuckle in thinking somehow Kitty played a part in the excitement. There was no damage to the church. The fire department did come and we got the all clear. Our quilting group has 12 members. This photo shows 10 of us along with other quilting friends. Only Jean C who lives in Arizona over the winter months is not present in the photo.
The most amazing thing happened while we were putting over 50 quilts over the backs of the pews prior to the service. Kitty's husband John came up to us and said he wants to be an honorary Quilting Babe. He wants us to keep Kitty in the rotation and wants us to meet at their house. He will provide a desert and refreshments and said he would be in his TV room as usual and not part of the meeting and will join us as usual around refreshment time. We are the one's who feel honored by this request. He also told me he wanted to continue taking me to the Tuesday meetings until my strength comes back to drive. Wow! Kitty has been taking me for the past few months. How wonderful of him to offer this. I was brought to tears and am tearful now while writing this. The power of love.
It was a beautiful day. My friends Karen and Pat then picked me up to take me to my second to last radiation treatment and then we went out for dinner. I couldn't ask for more amazing friends in my life. I am so saddened to no longer have Kitty with me in body. She will always be with me in spirit. I love you forever Kitty.
