Girl with a Baby
"I don't know if the baby on the girl's back is her sister or her niece. In any case, she is helping the child's mother, while the mother is doing something else."
- Photograph by Irenio Borges Roque, age 18
Location: Maputo, Mozambique
Irenio Borges Roque was a participant in The House is Small but the Welcome is Big project. The photographs that comprise The House is Small but the Welcome is Big were taken by women living with HIV in Cape Town, South Africa, and by youth orphaned by AIDS, along with youth activists, in Maputo, Mozambique.
