OPI Gargantuan Green Grape + Color Club Yell-Oh! Toe swatches
2 coats white base (OPI Alpine Snow) + 2 coats of color + Glossy Top Coat (only on Yell-Oh!)
Sorry that its blurry, cudnt steady my hand upside down. Alrighty, so both of these needed white base coats otherwise the color would not pop as intended and there would have been nail line showing, which i dont like at all, i like my polishes completely opaque, thank you. So the GGG drys with its own gloss so i dont need a TC unless i wanted it to dry faster, but polish usually wears pretty long on my toes, so i didnt really need a TC for shine, hardening, or longevity, like how i do on my nails. On the Yell-OH i did apply some top coat because its drys matte, just like all neons, and i tend to preffer glossy nails.
I love the Yell-oh on my toes, this will be on my toes all summer long! The only thing is, its bright, but it doesnt glow, like u know how some neons tend to have a glow hovering around them cause theyre so bight? Thats the only other thing i desire from this polish, true fluorescence, but other than that its pretty good. Neon yellow is always a hit on me, goes well with my skintone. Whether its clothe or accessories, whatever, and all shades of yellow polishes have been a hit for me too, so i knew this color as a polish would be a guaranteed winner. I just had to research to try and find a good opaque and glowing one. Some other similar ones like China Glaze Celtic Sun, and Misa A sunny smile makes me go wild, seemed to be too sheer for me when i looked at other peoples swatches. The only other neon yellow on the market that im interested in trying is Funky Limelight from Essie. Scrangie mentioned on her blog that its the absolute best neon yellow ever, so hopefully she will do a comparison with all these neon yellows and i will give that one a try.
As for GGG im not crazy about it on my toes, but i will be swatching it on my hands soon, probably later this week. The reason for this crazy two foot swatch is because i have become so hungry for nail polish to the point where i want to change my polish everyday! and i have been trying to discipline myself and break out of that thirst, because thats such a waste of polish. So i promised myself that i must let every set of polish i do on my hands last for at least a week. But to satisfy my urges, i can at least switch up polish on my toes often because i figure since toe nails are small, it wont waste so much polish and its not sandal season here in new york yet so no one will see my crazy non-matching colors. So that way i can wear at least 3 different colors at once (one on both hands, and then two more colors, one on each foot) and kind of calm my curiosity and anxiety :)
