600 DMC Comparison to size 70 Coats &Clark's

I won the spool of 600 for a snowflake I entered in the annual competition run by the Lace Museum in Sunnyvale, California. My snowflake was voted number 1 by the visitors to the museum.

 

At some point, the tatting thread industry renumbered size 70 to size 80 without altering the way the thread was made.
