The long dark days of winter suppress my cheer

Freezing temperatures and mists penetrate my soul

I yearn for spring

It seems so distant

But wait, the forest isn't bleak

Some trees cling onto to summer leaves

They illuminate my soul providing me with comfort

The forest is soothing

Tranquillity allows me time to slow down

To walk more slowly, to marvel at nature

To be thankful I am alive

Rejoice, winter can still be enchanting
