Mahnomen

Ricing is one of our favorite traditions here in Nett Lake Village. It is one of many ways that connect us to the history of our people.

 

My ancestors riced.

My grandparents still rice.

My sisters and brothers are learning to rice.

 

I will teach the next generation to rice.

 

This is how we hold on to the traditions that make us Anishinabe.
