At treeline

North Peak, on the eastern border of Yosemite. The flattish summit is on the border. The easiest ascent route is from the next canyon over, the Conness Lakes Basin. On the other side of this basin is the skyline at left, the east ridge of Mt. Conness, out of view behind. Cascade Lake at lower left. From north of Saddlebag Lake in the Twenty Lakes Basin. Though the peak itself is undistinguished from most vantage points, North Peak offers a grand view of Yosemite and the Mono Lake region on the rare days that big fires don't smoke up the air.
