Access denied
On arrival at the military check-point we were informed that the permits we'd obtained several months earlier were now rendered invalid, because in the mean time there had been a revolution and the officer who'd signed them was one of the cronies of the president ousted in the coup.
We were also told that due to recent border changes, the peaks we wanted to climb were now in China, rather than Krygyzstan, so we would need permits from the Chinese authorities anyway.
