Lofoten Islands, Norway
Not all of the Rorbuer are red!
Some of you have asked about these accommodations. We stayed in Rorbuer throughout our tour, and they were wonderfully cozy. They are small cabins complete with kitchenettes, a sitting area, a bedroom (twin beds which can be pushed together), and a full bath with shower. The bathrooms have heated floors, and the cabins are kept toasty with electric heat. We found them to be very clean and comfortable, and you have wifi. Our second rorbu was situated right over the water, so you could hear hear the constant sounds of the sea water pulsing below. There are not many restaurant choices in this area, so best to stop at a grocery in Leknes and stock up. If you are lucky, you might see the northern lights against amazing backdrops right out your window!
