Locomotive, 'Ken No.67’, built by Sentinel Waggon Works Ltd, Shrewsbury, in 1964, and allocated to Cadeby Main Colliery, is seen here, working on along British Railways metals, (formerly Hull and Barnsley Railway), as it crosses over the River Don Navigation, in order to gain access to the Denaby Main Colliery Sidings, and adjoining Boat Staithes Sidings, on 14/04/1970.
Much of the traffic from Cadeby Main Colliery at this time was being transported out, by way of the Denaby Main Colliery, Boat Staithes, near Conisbrough, located on the opposite bank of the River Don. Those staithes, which provided the coal loading facilities for river traffic working up and down the River Don Navigation, adjoined the Denaby Main Colliery. In order to gain access to those staithes, traffic from Cadeby Main Colliery, was worked along British Railways metals, between Denaby A Signal Box, across the River Don Navigation, and into the Denaby Main Colliery siding complex. Spoil from Cadeby Main Colliery, was also transported by this route, for disposal at Denaby Main Colliery.
Locomotive, 'Ken No.67’, was built by Sentinel Waggon Works Ltd, Shrewsbury, to Works No.10180, in 1964, for the National Coal Board, and delivered, new, to Cadeby Main Colliery, where it acquired the name, “Ken No.67”, ('No.521-5331'). The locomotive was transferred, from Cadeby Main Colliery, to Maltby Colliery, on 08/05/1987, and here, the locomotive was to remain, until sold, into preservation, at the South Yorkshire Railway Preservation Society, Meadowhall, Sheffield, on 20/05/1990.
