The scrap yard of George Slater Limited, subsequently taken over by Thomas W. Ward Ltd, was sandwiched between the G.C.R. mainline and the connecting line to Beighton Junction, and the North Midland Railway, Chesterfield to Rotherham, ‘old’ line.
