The Tripura Sundari temple is located in Matabari in a small village of Umrai in the lap of greenery, just 5 kilometers from Talwara village, about 14 km from Banswara in Rajasthan.

It is said that in the past there were three forts around the Tripura Sundari Temple. The goddess was named Tripura Sundari Temple due to her being located in these three towns named Shaktipuri, Shivpuri, and Vishnupuri.
