M106

🌌 M106 – A Galactic Masterpiece! ✨ After 11 hours of total exposure time in LRGB using my trusted equipment (mount EQ8-R, camera QHY268m, and optics Askar APO 185), this astrophotograph came to life. The processing was done with Astropixelprocessor, PixInsight, and Photoshop – truly a labor of love!

M106 (also known as NGC 4258) is a magnificent spiral galaxy in the constellation Canes Venatici, located about 23 million light-years away from Earth. It captivates with its active galactic core and its distinct, slightly asymmetric spiral arms. Beyond its beauty, it’s scientifically intriguing: a supermassive black hole lies hidden at its center! πŸŒ€.
