UP 4217 Leads G4LB intermodal westbound across th- oh wait. UP 4217 was originally the mid train DPU on IG4LB, but while the intermodal made its way through Pacific, right at the final crossing (Payne St) the sound of breaks being applied grabbed everyones attention and then shortly after the smell of break shoes lingered Pacific. What also lingered were Facebook post on this train blocking town… so after many many decisions on how to go about unblocking Pacific, a plan was made to split the train from the DP’s and limp the front half to Labadie to inspect the leader. The engineer took the train to Labadie while the conductor stayed behind with the back half, only blocking one crossing in town now (Olive St). Loaded coal CNATS flys east past the soon to become 2IGLB 9 heading towards Calvert City, KY to be unloaded, graciously the conductor flicked the brights on for a few seconds while the DPU flew past on the other main. Later that night a spare engine would be brought out to be placed infront of the SD70M and at 3:40 AM the back half of the original G4LB would creeping out of pacific to heading begin westbound across the Jefferson City Subdivision.
