Small name, small dog

On the last day of July 1982 the 15.12 Scarborough to Glasgow Queen St arrived in platform 21 behind 45060 which had at that time lost its Sherwood Forester nameplate. If it had stayed on the train I’d have been tempted to jump aboard for the novelty value but no, it was taken off to be replaced by 37027 Loch Eil which had brought the outbound working across from Glasgow that morning.

Here's a shot of the nameplate from the 37.

45060 is now preserved but 37027, after spending 3 years on hire in France, was cut up in 2008.
