Let the brakes off…
The sun never seemed to shine when I visited NCB Bedlay colliery. This visit was on 2nd April 1981 before joining an IRS official visit to BSC Dalzell. However I was too late to catch No6 bringing its first train up the steep bank from the colliery to the BR exchange sidings that morning.
Here the brakes are released and it begins to run back down the hill.
Andrew Barclay 2043 is currently preserved and operational at Bo’ness.
