From Scotland to Kent to Italy…

The only Barclay class 06 to be sold for Industrial use, D2432 was withdrawn from Eastfield in 1968 and moved by road to Shipbreakers (Queenborough) the following year. It was used as one of their fleet until March 1977 when it was exported to Italy, finally being scrapped there in 1986.

In the shed alongside is D2070, withdrawn from Thornaby in 1971 and used at Queenborough until the 1990s when it was sold for preservation, but was cut up in 2001 due to its poor condition.

This is another instamatic pic, taken on 29th July 1976.
