rp @privtoprog: Hey women, when a man says “I’m not sexist,” but he doesn’t do anything to actually work against sexism as he continues to benefit from our patriarchal society, we know that’s not only NOT helping, but it’s actually hurting. Take that concept and apply it to white Americans and racism. If you’re not actively antiracist, you are perpetuating a system that benefits you at the expense of people of color. That’s why we say having white skin privilege is not an accusation or blame, it’s an opportunity to use it for progress by taking action—learning, speaking up in your everyday life, and amplifying the voices of people of color. That’s what we do here every day.
