Wing Commander

I thought this was a curlew originally but it has been identified by Gower Ornithological Society as a Whimbrel. In the UK they only breed in the Shetland and Orkney Islands, which is very possibly where these were heading as they crossed Wales on the way from their wintering areas in Africa.
