I illustrated color through the principles of design contrast and unity. There are contrast and unity between the different textures of the box and duct tape.
I think I did very well in positioning the string of colorful lights. The position of the lights helps to create reflections on my brother’s face and also helps to create interesting shadows in the background.
One thing I wish I could change was the position of my camera. I wish that my brother was more centered. It would give me a third principle of design, balance. I also wished I used clear tape to hang up the lights instead of duct tape.
My little brother has a cardboard box fort downstairs in our basement. To take this picture, we set up these rainbow LED lights all along the walls inside. I took many pictures using the different colored settings. I decided on this picture because of the color that ties the picture together, all the cool reflections, and interesting textures.
