The quality of these german cameras is well known. They are beautifuly made, have very good lenses and are often still reliable after so many years!
For a lens of this age i think it is an exceptional performer. I was blown away by the images sharpness although the front and back lenses look like being cleaned with fine sand papper.
I think people are too worried about scratches on lenses but if they are not to deep it doesn't really matters.
