The Aln Valley Railway is a heritage railway of 1.5 miles length. The line is mainly operated on the trackbed of the former Alnmouth to Alnwick railway line that was built by the York, Newcastle and Berwick Railway and opened in 1850 and closed in 1968.
The heritage railway commenced operating in 2013. The Cawledge Viaduct is the principal engineering feature of the line, 135 yards long, 7 arches of 45 feet span the highest being 53 feet.
Lionheart Station is at the Alnwick end of the line and Greenrigg Halt is at the Alnmouth end.
