DECORATION (INCLUDING MOTIF AND ELEMENTS WHEN APPARENT): This vessel has an interior and exterior red slip. The rim panel has an engraved pendant triangle motif repeated two times around the vessel. The motif consists of a central circle (with an inner diamond and negative circle element) and a horizontal scroll featuring a central diamond (with an inner diamond and negative oval); the horizontal scroll does not connect with the central circle element. The horizontal scrolls end at upper and lower excised brackets. Above and below the scrolls are single rows of excised pendant triangles (Figure A1.101).

 

PIGMENT USE AND LOCATION ON VESSEL: white pigment in the engraved lines
