Dennis Meyer (L), NRCS District Conservationist Becky Ayre, and Jay Smith (R). Meyer and Smith manage the Grunenfelder Ranch. They, and the landowners, have participated in forestry projects through the Capital 360 Joint Chiefs' Landscape Restoration Partnership. This project works to mitigate fuel loads that could contribute to wildfire, protecting watersheds and infrastructure. Joint Chiefs' projects work across private and public boundaries, especially in the wildland urban interface. This project shows a recent thinning project that remove unhealthy trees and reduces tree density. Lewis and Clark County, MT. June 2022.
