Double Wakes

This was really not meant to be a series, but in reality numbers seem to be way way down again at Elk Island National Park this year, and subjects seem to be at a great distance surrounded by water as opposed to reeds and grasses near shore, so once again the water plays an important part of the image. This Mallard hen was actually following a drake, whose disappearing wake can be seen behind her. I don't often think of rules of thirds or anything like that, but here placing the wakes approximately on the thirds works well I think. Being a hefty crop I was left with a number of possible choices with how to crop during processing.

With heavy smoke still blanketing the area I will not be going out today so pickin's are slim from my recent trip to the National park, but I should have a couple of images for the next couple of days.
