Philly Christmas

Rittenhouse Square - Center City, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Rittenhouse Square, originally named Southwest Square, was one of five green areas designed into Philadelphia by William Penn. In 1825, the square was renamed Rittenhouse, after David Rittenhouse - a renowned inventor and astronomer. He was also the treasurer of PA (1777) and the first US Mint director.

During the Christmas holiday, the square is decorated with hanging-wreaths, -snowflakes, and a Christmas tree... all in traditional white lights. Not sure if the bulbs are LED's, but they have the wonderful warm glow of incandescents..
