Amritsar (Inde) - Photographier dans un lieu sacré en Inde, tel le Temple d’Or, revêt un grande difficulté : les sollicitudes incessantes des pèlerins qui souhaitent se faire tirer le portrait.
Au début, devant la gentillesse des Sikhs, j’ai accepté cette servitude par politesse. Bien entendu, ces photos étaient expédiées sans recherche de composition. Uniquement des plans de Sikhs seuls ou en groupe, avec un bout du Temple d’or en arrière plan pour situer la scène. Ces séances photos imposées peuvent cependant être un bon préalable pour engager un contact qui, par la suite, peut parfois offrir l’opportunité d’obtenir des photos moins convenues.
Comme je suis resté plusieurs jours, j’ai vite compris que cet exercice imposé de la photo statique serait récurrente Autant essayer de tirer profit de cette obligation en soignant au mieux la composition. Pour les photos d’une famille composée d’une vingtaine de membres, quoi qu’on fasse, on n’obtiendra rien de satisfaisant photographiquement parlant. Bien que le lieu soit sacré, il ne faut pas s’attendre à un miracle.

At the beginning, in front of the kindness of the Sikhs, I accepted this bondage out of politeness. Of course, these photos were taken without researching the composition. Only shots of Sikhs alone or in groups, with a bit of the Golden Temple in the background to set the scene. These imposed photo shoots can, however, be a good prerequisite for engaging a contact who, subsequently, can sometimes offer the opportunity to obtain less agreed photos.
As I stayed several days on this sacred site, I quickly understood that this imposed exercise of static photography would be recurrent. So much to try to take advantage of this obligation by taking care of the composition as well as possible. For photos of a family made up of about twenty members, whatever you do, you will not obtain anything photographically satisfactory. Although the place is sacred, do not expect miracles.
