Canyon Devil's Gate (Khosta).

Russia, Krasnodar region, the city of Sochi.

The canyon is located near the town of Khosta, about 24 kilometers from the center of Sochi and 14 kilometers from Adler.

This is a rare natural site on the border of the Caucasus Natural Biosphere Reserve and the Sochi National Park.

The length of the canyon is Devil's Gate about 800 (eight hundred) meters, the height of the steep walls is more than 50 (fifty) meters, the width at the narrowest point is 3 (three) meters, and the maximum depth is 4.5 (four and a half) meters in the summer months.

At the confluence of the Vostochnaya (Big) Khosta River and the Zapadnaya (Small) Khosta River there is a small lake that is buried in the shadow of the Colchian forest. Green ferns, mosses and relic boxwood cover the shores of the reservoir. These plants came to us from the far preglacial period and remember the ancient dinosaurs. Shadow and coolness, the murmur of river water and the unique nature make the place popular for visiting. The walls of the canyon are narrowed, the bowl of the lake is closed by a narrow gorge of the gorge along which the water of the Bolshaya Khosta river flows.
