Crewe is one of the main railway interchanges on the West Coast Mainline and the National Rail network, with connections to various towns and cities.
Crewe Railway Heritage Centre is also close by to the station.
In the future, Crewe will also become an interchange station for HS2 High Speed Trains.
Update: As of October 2023, it has now been announced that HS2 will now no longer go towards Crewe and Manchester, only now going as far as Birmingham.
