I made a complete model but the composition was meant to look similar to this from the beginning. Have a look here to see the whole model:

I would have loved the windows on the upper left cabin to shine and sparkle but as usual I only used sunlight. And having a single light source only it looks much better having the left side lit.
In fact I would have also prefered to have the blue windows on the right to be more dampened. But I am not a painter and have to cope with things as they are.
One of the main aspects of lighting was to have the water in the shadows. Otherwise it would become grey, too bright and loose the lovely reflections :-)
This was one of the few occasions when I did not use any processing to adapt the light. No contrast, brightness etc.
As usual everone may feel free to ask for any technique I used here and I wil try to cover it in a tutorial or just answer.
