Reflection of the Little Giant Girl

Sunday they left our town by boat.. the Giants of Royal the Luxe.

Each of the Giants had their own boat.

All the visitors and all the inhabitants of our town became to love the Giants.

Everyone empathized with the Diver and the Little Girl who were looking for each other, walking around town and when Saturday night they finally found each other, the crowd was cheering, clapping from happiness for them.

There were people crying, too.

Very emotional. A fairy tale for all people.

This was really a very special happening, with about 150.000 (each day) visitors from out of town.

 

It was GIGANTIC

Royal de Luxe

 

The Giants of Royal de Luxe were visiting Leeuwarden, because our town is European Capital of Culture 2018

 

Royal de Luxe is founded in France by artistic director Jean-Luc Courcoult.

 

The Giants visiting Leeuwarden are: the Little Girl, the dog Xolo and the Diver who is the girl's father. She is looking for him, wandering the streets sometimes accompanied by her dog Xolo.

 

The Girl is 5.5 meters high, weighs 800 kilos and walks by a speed of 2.5 km per hour. She needs 20 people to get her in motion.

 

 

The dog Xolo is 3 meters high and walks 4.5 km per hour. Xolo also needs 20 people to make him walk.

 

 

The Diver is the Real gigantic Giant.. he is 11 meters high, weighs 3 tons and walks 2 km per hour. The Diver needs 30 people, very fit people ;-) to help him walk.
