Caffeine Extraction Lab

In this picture, you can see that I am pointing to a small Erlenmeyer flask on a heater. If you couldn't tell from the context clues, my goggles, or from the description in my previous picture, I was in my organic chemistry lab. This picture displays the benefits of preparing intensely before lab. When I put quality time and effort into preparing, there was plenty of time to relax and even take selfies in lab. Some may argue that I was probably rushed and frantic given that my forehead is glistening with sweat. However, this is simply because my chair sits next to the heater. In this lab we extracted pure caffeine from a cup of tea. It was very interesting. This picture is important to me because it displays how the hard work in lab from 5:30-9:30 every Thursday night will all be worth seeing good grades on the midterms.
