As well as a basic education, migrant labourers' son Dhanush (right) aged seven is now receiving healthy meals as a result of the "All For Children" project - a joint initiative by Unicef and the global clothing chain H&M. The project's aim is to protect the rights of children in the cotton producing areas of Tamil Nadu, southern India..Dhanush's family moved to Tamil Nadu from the eastern state of Orissa because of the availability of work at brickworks in Salem District. But life proved harder than expected and while his parents worked, he and his three siblings roamed wild in the surrounding countryside without clothes, regular meals or any notion of personal hygiene. The children's plight came to the attention of a Project Officer who arranged for them to be enrolled in a nearby day centre and primary school which also provide regular nutritious snacks..Dhanush is pictured with his eight-year-old sister Shanti (second right) and day centre helper Kalaiselvi ( left)..Unicef India/2010/Jean Macfarlane .
