NRZ 424 Figtree 110806 (0800 to Bulawayo)

NRZ 424 makes a "false departure" from Figtree on 11/08/06, with the 0800 charter to Bulawayo, as two of Mr Mugabe's security men watched on.

 

NRZ (National Railways of Zimbabwe) 424 (originally numbered 404) "Isilwane or Lion" is a class 15A Garratt (4-6-4+4-6-4) & was built in 1950 by Beyer, Peacock & Company at Gorton in Manchester for the Rhodesdian Railways.
